A summary of the in-flight mechanical environments of payloads on various Ariane launches is presented. The results obtained from the initial Ariane 4 launch are analyzed and compared to mathematical predictions. The low frequency domain is given priority in reviewing different, payload distribution possibilities. Satellite launching projects are analyzed in terms of load and stiffness limits. Dimensioning procedures are outlined.
