The purpose of the study was to test the feasibility of estimating by means of probabilistic activity models the primary and secondary economic impacts on local minor civil divisions caused by a major change in highway transportation within a corridor. The theoretical framework of the study and the calibrated models were developed using secondary data drawn from a sample of three major highway corridors in Pennsylvania. Statistical measurements of the models' performance showed that it was indeed feasible to make these estimates.
