The RU-21C Army Preliminary Evaluation was accomplished by the US Army Aviation Systems Test Activity at Edwards Air Force Base, California. Objectives of the flight test evaluation were to determine compliance with specification guarantees, estimate capability to perform the assigned mission and to detect shortcomings and deficiencies which would affect mission performance. Thirty test flights involving 32 productive flying hours were conducted between 14 and 27 December 1968. The RU-21C met all performance guarantees, and the handling qualities were generally satisfactory.
