This research was undertaken by the California Department of Transportation(Caltrans) in 2004 to address the need for better and more accurate dataregarding travel characteristics of infill development in Californias metropolitan areas. Specifically, the primary objectives of this study are to: Develop trip generation rates for common infill land use categories in urban areas of California, Establish a California urban infill land use trip generation database, and Supplement ITE trip generation data.
