Transit systems across the country are planning to introduce fixed-route accessible bus service. This report has been prepared to assist these transit systems and Metropolitan Planning Organizations (MPOs) in the phase-in of fixed-route accessible buses. Technical guidance has been prepared on key functional areas where the impact of accessible service will be the greatest. These areas are citizen particpation; vehicle procurement and facility modifications; service planning and operations; maintenance; training; marketing; and monitoring and evaluation.
