A study has been made of U.S. Army maintenance operations to determine the significance of repetitive maintenance and incorrect diagnoses in regard to U.S. Army maintenance efficiency. A questionnaire was distributed to Army maintenance personnel to solicit their views on maintenance efficiency. In addition, Army aircraft inspection and maintenance data (DA Form 2408-13 and Operations Reliability Maintainability Engineering Data) were reviewed to quantify the number of repetitive maintenance actions. These data included maintenance personnel and maintenance actions for the UH-1H, Ch-47C, and CH-54B model helicopters.
