Problems concerning the recording of flight data using gliders and light aircraft were explained by means of an example of a flight test program with the SB 10 glider. The SB 10 was selected as the test aircraft in which statistical data would be obtained on the magnitude and frequency of stresses on gliders and light aircraft during overland flights lasting several hours. For this purpose deflexion owing to vertical acceleration was measured at various points on the wings, as well as vertical acceleration in the fuselage and wingtips and the pitot pressure, i.e. the flight speed.
