Means of transport serve not only to convey passengers from a place of departure over a certain distance to a place of destination, but during the time of travel, further functions and performances must be performed. These include accommodations in the passenger cabin, protection of the passengers from harmful impact, food service, removal of waste, and entertainment. The design of aircraft interiors require special demands. These functions and the demands they place on aircraft interior design are discussed in this document.
