The document deals with bearing strength prediction for some layups of GLARE 2, GLARE 3 and GLARE 4. The ASTM definitions of bearing yield strength (2% set of permanent hole deformation) and ultimate strength for metals are adopted. Two methods are evaluated: the method of bilinear representation and the rule-of-mixtures. Both methods postulate the bearing yield and ultimate strength of GLARE can be predicted from the properties of its constituents; i.e., aluminum and prepreg.
