A human factors, training and safety evaluation of the FIST-V was conducted at Fort Sill, OK, Sep - Dec 1982 in conjunction with the FIST-V OT II. This report of this evaluation identified problems in the area of man-machine interface, safety and training that significantly detract from the combat effectiveness of the FIST-V. It is concluded that constraints imposed by the requirement to use the current TOW/M113APC vehicle as the basic vehicle preclude the correction of many of those problems. However, the report points out other deficiencies that are not difficult to correct or improve. (Author)
