This report contains information on the Reliability, Maintainability and Supportability R. M & S of STOVL fighter propulsion systems. Five STOVL propulsion concepts were investigated and evaluated. A R. M & S evaluation method was developed for this project. This method could not be used to rate the propulsion concepts since the components of the propulsion systems had not been fully defined. An alternative method was to rank order the propulsion system for R. M & S. Subjective ratings were given to the major components of each propulsion concept. These ratings were then weighted and summed to determine rank order of the propulsion concepts. Propulsion components critical to the R. M & S ratings were identified. Recommendations for future R. M & S study efforts are included in the report. (KR)
