The Calspan Reconstruction of Accident Speeds on the Highway (CRASH) computer program was modified to (1) incorporate an optional trajectory simulation routine, based on the corresponding portion of the Simulation Model of Automobile Collisions (SMAC) computer program, to permit automatic testing and refinement of the CRASH estimates of separation velocities, (2) provide an optional abbreviated format for the time-sharing version of CRASH, (3) provide an optional batch mode of operation, and (4) revise and extend the output format. This report documents the analytical bases for the modifications that have been incorporated in the CRASH2 computer program.
