An extensive program for airport improvement and for development of a sophisticated air traffic control (ATC) system is leading to expansion of the avionics and aviation support equipment markets in Malaysia. In addition, plans for establishing domestic overhaul and support workshop facilities for the Malaysian Airline System (MAS) will call for substantial purchases. These new and enlarged sales opportunities, combined with the increased price competitiveness of U.S. products, point to favorable market prospects for American firms.
