Temple, Barker, and Sloane worked with Lykes Brothers Steamship Company, Farrell Lines, several microcomputer-to-mainframe communications companies, and the Maritime Administration to perform this study. Communications links between microcomputer and mainframe computers for maritime applications were studied. Included in the report are recommendations, and evaluation of opportunities, and assessment of hardware and software products, and demonstrations projects.
