The problem of reduction of aircraft interior cabin noise is one of great importance for many purposes (improved passengers' comfort, inter-cabin and air-to-ground communications, etc.). In most cases it is desirable to get complete information of the noise characteristics in a certain flight condition range: overall sound levels and frequency contents of the noise as a function of measurement point location and flight conditions. These requirements imply need for a simple prediction method based on a minimum number of high-cost flight tests and giving accurate prediction in the range of flight conditions of interest. An empirical method based on correlation between noise levels and test flight parameters appears to be a proper solution to the problem, if one succeeds to find correlation dependences strong enough to obtain accurate prediction results.
