The vibration phenomena occurring during takeoff and landing of a helicopter were experimentally and theoretically investigated. The investigation covers vibrations of simplified two- and three-dimensional rotor systems. In the mathematical treatment additional degrees of fuselage freedom were taken into account. The existence of as yet unknown instability regions is pointed out with this extended theory.
