A commercial floodlight trailer was procured with a 35-foot tower and four high-intensity lights to determine its capability compared to that of the standard Navy floodlight trailer, and to compare light output and durability of various types of light sources. It was found that metallic-vapor-arc-type lamps on a tower at least 30 feet high will produce the most effective lighting for Seabee construction sites. (Author)
