Evaluation of year round meteorological measurements for the Society Islands establishes a steady predominant east wind pattern with an air mass flow subject to occasional tropical depressions of short durations. These meteorological conditions cause some aeronautical problems that require flight cancellations or delays at Tahiti airport. However, the few observed bad weather conditions rarely necessitate rerouting of airplanes.
