The specific objectives of this project were to quantify the present and existing pedestrian hazard and then assess the injury reduction potential of a number of selected vehicle configurations. This was to be accomplished by conducting highly instrumented experimental impacts using adult and 6-year-old child anthropomorphic dummies and unembalmed cadaveric specimens.
