In the City of El Paso the Airport Road (FAM 5022)-Fred Wilson Road (FAM 5023) arterial route will be improved from Haan Road to U.S. Highway 54, a distance of 2.35 miles, by eliminating the at-grade railroad crossing near Railroad Drive, minor realignment, widening of traffic lanes, overlaying deficient pavement, improvement of traffic signals and safety lighting and land improvements at intersection of Fred Wilson Road and Airport Road. In the same area Marshall Road will be extended from Fred Wilson Road to Railroad Drive (FAM 5017) a distance of 0.57 miles including 0.25 miles on new right-of-way. The work includes construction of overpass of Southern Pacific Transportation Company's main line, passing track and sidings and an interchange connection to Railroad Drive. Access roads for businesses isolated by construction will be provided. No significant adverse effects on the environment are foreseen.
