One of two NASA sections of H.R. 5679 that deals with NASA, this section explores what civilian space assets exist in the former Soviet Union. After opening statements, the testimony is followed by statements from a representative of the Department of State. Finally a panel on the Russian space program made up of Russian space experts presents testimony. Some specific topics treated in the Senate Hearings are automatic rendezvous and docking system, civil space policy, Soviet/United States cooperation, future of soviet scientists, and solar sails.
