An overview of the Vanderberg Launch and landing Site (VLS) satellite launcher, part of the Brazilian Space Program, is given. The following are presented: the general concept; constuctural and performance characteristics of the vehicle; the development status in many fields such as vehicle engineering, manufacturing, tests and facilities.
