A discussion of the determination of the wartime requirements for Navy surface to air missiles is presented. Procedures used to establish actual procurement quantities and thereby the inventory levels for a surface to air missile in production and another in Full Scale Development are identified. Problems related to the current procedures are analyzed. An evaluation of these procedures is presented, and a recommendation for more effective procurement is made.
