The past decade has witnessed global changes such as internationalization of the economies, development of regional trading blocks, vessel sharing agreements among carriers, changing trade routes and new environmental legislation. As major changes take place in the port industry, it becomes imperative to address the pressing issues and challenges. This study assesses the new and emerging financial, technological and environmental milieu under which ports operate. This report will be available at a time most needed, and provide the required information for: decision-making bodies and government regulatory agencies, legislators, voter constituencies, and the general public, and port users and the port industry.
