A study was conducted to analyze the factors related to the dental problems encountered on extended submarine patrols, and to assess the ability of the medical officer in caring for them. Incidence of dental problems on FBM submarine patrols was found to be low - considering the number of men aboard and the length of time of the patrols. The present management of dental problems by submarine medical officers was considered to be highly satisfactory. (Author)
