The report includes information resulting from research on the whole light station. The Cape Hatteras tower, which is the symbol of Cape Hatteras Seashore is the point of focus, but is should be realized that the other structures as well were vital to the operation of the lighthouse station. The report also includes brief histories of other aids to navigation in the area. Among these are included the histories of the Diamond Shoals Lightship, the Cape Hatteras Beacon, the Hatteras Inlet Light, and the Shell Castel Beacon. (Author)
