The project involves the construction of a 23.4 mile segment of six and eight lane divided Interstate 75 between U.S. Route 27 at Andytown in Broward County and the Palmetto Expressway, northwest of Miami, in Dade County. The proposed route generally follows S.R. 84 alignment east of Andytown, then south in the Bonaventure Boulevard, Volunteer Road, N.W. 92nd Avenue corridor to N.W. 138th Street and then east to the Palmetto Expressway. The most significant environmental impacts are the necessary takings of privately owned open space lands for highway use and the possible acceleration of already planned urbanization of the area encouraged by the improved accessibility. The construction of the proposed project will require displacement of 5 residences and 12 businesses and farms.
