The GE-TRAP I instrumentation system is installed on board a US Air Force JKC-135A aircraft, and is used to monitor the re-entry of re-entry vehicles on the Eastern, Western and White Sands missile ranges. The instrumentation system, consisting of an automatic tracker, photometric and radiometric instruments, is designed to measure and record the physical phenomena associated with vehicles re-entering the earth's atmosphere. The Operation Manual contains a description of major subsystems of the TRAP I instrumentation system; it presents the operating procedures necessary to insure proper utilization of TRAP I data recording instruments.
