One of the most notable features of the methods of computational mechanics is that they can be applied to nonlinear problems. It is in this area that the development of numerical solution techniques is particularly rewarding. Therefore, in this paper the authors focus exclusively on the nonlinear problems that are encountered in aircraft and spacecraft structural design.
