This program was established by the DOE to expand the exposure of the Voluntary Truck and Bus Fuel Economy Program. The intent of the program was to reach two audiences: (1) dealers and (2) owner operators and small fleets. The aim was to educate the dealer so he in turn can relay the information to the truck buyers (owner operators), and secondly, educate the users (owner operators) on a first hand basis. The program was accomplished by conducting information/education programs utilizing two elements as dissemination channels, the dealer and the truck stop. (ERA citation 08:041413)
