A pendulum stagnation chamber and lateral thrust measuring system were used to experimentally determine the magnitude and direction of the lateral thrust developed by a three-dimensional Coanda Nozzle. The study included an investigation of thrust vector control (jet-switching) using parallel injection of a secondary fluid jet. Several nozzle configurations were tested to determine the effect of pressure ratio Po/Pa and setback ratio on lateral thrust and jet-switching performance. Pressure ratio was varied from 1.7 to 7.63 for a setback ratio range of 4 to 10.24. Lateral to theoretical axial thrust ratios of 0.23 were achieved. (Author)
