The study was performed to examine the physical aspects of a hardwired E-2C aircraft versus one in which a General Purpose Multiplex system (E-2C-MUX) is incorporated. Both designs are based on the same physical hardware located in the same position in the vehicle. This information is necessary to establish the cost effectiveness of multiplexing as opposed to a hardwired configuration.
