The purpose of the proposed project is to provide a facility capable of safely accommodating the expected traffic volumes. A portion of the project will be subjected to changes in the existing topography, and while not severe, it will for a time change some of the overland drainage. The loss of trees, however few, is an effect which will alter the natural characteristics of the immediate area and will remove a natural barrier to the noise associated with roadways. The traffic increase may result in an increase in air pollution due to exhaust fumes. This increase in traffic may also result in noticeable change in the ambient noise level.
