The use and the future applications of manned space flight research results are discussed. Scientific experiments in Spacelab and the possible utilization of the results for research and industry on Earth are described. The effects of weightlessness on materials research and the production of new materials; the production in space of GaAs crystals for microelectronics and superchips; turbine blades made of single crystals; the production of large biological single crystals; biology in space; living cells under conditions of weightlessness; medical experiments on astronauts; space sickness; investigations of the vestibular apparatus; and the TEXUS-program are treated.
