The position-fixing and navigation system shall enable Army aircraft pilots and surveillance drone controllers to determine the position of their vehicles with respect to an established grid system. This position information will be correlated with combat intelligence information received from sensors or observers to determine accurately the position of enemy targets. The system shall be capable of providing, on demand, continuous present position information to all users without being subject to saturation. The positioning system shall serve as a universal navigation system for field use by aircraft pilots, drone controllers, and ground vehicle operators. The system shall facilitate air traffic control operations in the field army.
