AMCP 706-202, Engineering Design Handbook, Helicopter Engineering, Part Two, Detail Design, is the second part of a three-volume helicopter engineering design handbook. The preliminary design (covered in AMCP 706-201) is developed during the proposal phase, at which time all subsystems must be defined in sufficient detail to determine aircraft configuration, weight, and performance. The detail design involves a reexamination of all subsystems in order to define each element throughly with the aims of optimizing the aircraft with regard to mission capability as well as cost considerations.
