This report outlines the recent achievements in modeling of turbulent free-surface flows around modern transom stern ships using a FINFLO-SHIP RANS solver. An approach for numerical solution of a free surface is proposed and incorporated into this solver. This provides one possibility for further improvement of the previous technique competence. The advantage is that its use not only maintains the good convergence performance but achieves accurate prediction of ship wave making.
