A typical jet transport wing with integral leading edge fuel tanks was subjected to impacts similar to those which could occur in the vicinity of an airport in an aborted takeoff or an abnormal landing. The problems with the test setup are discussed, also suggestions for improvement are included. The same wing was impacted with several birds to simulate bird strikes. (Author)
