The book examines the design operating process, principles of control and operational characteristics of jet engines of various types used in civil aviation (including turbojet, turboprop and turbofan). The classification of the engines is given. Special attention is given to the analysis of peculiarities of throttle and high-altitude and high-speed characteristics of gas-turbine aircraft engines and also the study on the effect of various operating conditions on these characteristics.
