The foundations of today's modern helicopter fleet date from 30 to more than 50 years ago and yet, as a result of modernization programs, the fleet remains current and mission capable with a relevance projected far into the future. Together, the four main airframes, UH-60 Black Hawk, AH-64 Apache, OH-58 Kiowa Warrior and the CH-47 Chinook comprise the core of U.S. Army Aviation.
