The National Eldercare Institute on Transportation (NEIT) was one of a dozen entities funded by the Administration on Aging provides information, technical assistance and other support in specific subject areas to the larger network of agencies providing services to and advocacy on behalf of the nation's elderly population. NEIT's goals are: To increase public awareness and commitment to the transportation and mobility needs of at-risk older people; To serve as a resource institute on aging and transportation/mobility issues to the National Eldercare Campaign and its Project CARE Coalitions; To gather, analyze and disseminate data on aging and transportation issues; To provide training and technical assistance on aging transportation issues.
