Captain Albert A.W. Christians is master of the 174-ft Dutch tug Jacob Van Heemskerck. Between Boston and Southampton, tug and crew encountered those savage forces that have sent many a good crew and well-built ship to the bottom of the ocean. This article describes the challenges that the captain and crew faced before the piers were delivered after absorbing the best punches the North Atlantic could deliver.
