The Department of the Air Force (DAF), like the entire U.S. Department of Defense (DoD),has been directed to support the National Defense Strategy objectives of defending the homeland and deterring strategic attacks against the United States and its allies and partners. The National Defense Strategy stresses that mutually beneficial alliances and partnerships are critical to achieving U.S. objectives and calls on DoD to incorporate ally and partner perspectives, competencies, and advantages at every stage of defense planning.
