The NOON CUSP-1 test was launched by a NASA rocket from Andenes (Norway). Finnish development of the magnetometer and a sensor sleeve is discussed. Future Finnish participation is discussed in the context of the following missions: a rocket launch (with NASA) in 1991, from Andenes, is possible; and the MIRE (Magnet Interaction Rocket Experiment) program is to be developed in conjunction with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, with a possible launch from NASA's Wallops Island (U.S.).
