The integrity of MC 330/331 cargo tanks was assessed by conducting six tasks: Literature review--Accident data and professional literature were reviewed; Fabrication practices--Production practices of three fabricators were evaluated; Carrier practices--Maintenance and requalification practices of nine carriers were evaluated; Inspection and testing--Thirty-seven tanks (transports and bobtails) were tested; Shipper practices--The QC systems of nine shippers (LPG and NH3) were evaluated; Industry participation--An industry conference was held.
