The study examines the potential use of space operations to support the Army's mission to conduct land warfare. Specific applications are discussed which can assist in performing the Army's land combat functions: intelligence; mobility; firepower; command, control, and communications; and service support. Significant developments in space capabilities during the first thirteen years of the Space Age are reviewed. (Modified author abstract)
