In compliance with the requirements of The Noise Control Act of 1972 the Environmental Protection Agency must review existing regulations and propose new regulatory action to the Federal Aviation Administration, where considered necessary, to control aircraft noise. This regulation and its first three amendments apply to noise standards for turbine powered subsonic aircraft regardless of category, and subsonic transport category aircraft, regardless of means of power. This report provides technical comment and analyses to support the EPA review of FAR 36 and its Appendices A, B, and C.
