Techniques for testing fully cavitating propellers in water tunnels were investigated. Four methods for measuring tunnel velocity were used, and results from tunnel tests of two geometrically similar, fully cavitating propellers are compared with results from high-speed open-water tests. Comparison shows the importance of making sound corrections for tunnel wall effects. The velocity-measuring techniques discussed may, in part, acomplish this. (Author)
