In this report, a model of mutual deterrence by fixed, land-based missile forces is discussed. In the model, both parties maintain boost-phase and preferential terminal defenses. Computations are given for different system configurations, and conclusions are presented about the cost-effective maintenance of mutual deterrence. 5 refs., 4 figs. (ERA citation 14:013473)
