The construction of this section of the interstate highway to the design and safety criteria of modern highway planning will have beneficial effects on the local, state, and national environments by facilitating the safe, uninterrupted flow of interstate and domestic traffic. Encroachment on the natural environment is unavoidable. The lands traversed by the proposed project are comprised of undeveloped desert, pasture, and grazing lands, some residential properties, irrigated farm land, subdivided areas, and various light commercial parcels. Limited reduction in the native wildlife habitat is anticipated as well as relocation of some residents.
